K'gari is a place name used by the Butchulla people and it means "paradise" or "place of the spirit".

This collection was captured six months after the devastating bushfires of 2020, when flames tore through the island for over two months, leaving a landscape of blackened earth and charred trees.

But even in destruction, there was renewal. Shoots of green pushing through the ash, delicate flowers blooming against a backdrop of charred trunks. It was a powerful reminder that fire, while fierce and consuming, is also a catalyst for regeneration in Australia’s unique native flora. Some seeds need the fire to open. Some soils need the burn to heal.

The Rebirth Collection reflects this cyclical dance — a visual prayer for the moments in our lives when we, too, are burned to the ground only to rise again, stronger and more vibrant than before.
