ABOUT ME

Kia ora. Ko Nikita Pere ahau.
Hi, I'm Nikita Pere!

I am a Māori Photographer & Storyteller. My work is a blend of land, spirit, and memory, honouring the sacred connection between people and place.

Raised between cultures and continents, I see the world as a meeting place of the seen and unseen. Where every mountain, river, and tree carries a story. A spirit. A message. Photography became my way of listening to those whispers, of capturing the quiet power that lives within the land and offering it back to others as a visual prayer.

Through my work, I honour my tūpuna (ancestors) and carry forward their sacred ways of seeing, feeling, and being in relationship with the earth. My work invites you to pause, breathe, and remember the sacred responsibility we each hold as Kaitiaki: guardians of our natural worlds.

Right now, I’m deepening this journey by studying a Bachelor of Psychology. The sale of these prints directly supports my studies as I explore how ancestral knowledge, proximity to culture, and connection to Country can shape our mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. My vision is to bridge Indigenous frameworks with Western psychology to bring culturally safe care into spaces that have often felt sterile or disconnected.

Thank you for walking this path with me. By investing in these pieces, you are investing in a future where healing is rooted in land, lineage, and love.

May these artworks hold space for you to ground, to reflect, and to remember all that you are – and all those who walked before.
